If you're in Odda, this is a must-visit!
You walk in through a stave church with dragon heads on the roof and end up in a longhouse built of solid glulam timber and panels treated with tar pine and linseed oil. It smells of smoked wood and grilled meat. Langhuset is Lothepus's masterwork. Raised on the old slag heap from the smelting works, with a stage in the centre and long tables along the walls.

The menu is short and unpretentious: a viking burger with serious punch, spareribs that fall off the bone, and the catch of the day. Order the apple cake for dessert. It comes with brown cheese ice cream that balances sweet and salty in a way you didn't know you needed. The venue is so spectacular it alone is worth the trip, but the food keeps pace. Check the opening hours on Facebook before you go — they vary a bit.
Opening hours may vary, especially during holidays and seasonal changes. We recommend checking the venue's own website for updated hours.
