Visit Aarvik Gård in Baldersheim and enjoy the peaceful atmosphere of Gamlastovo, where you can sleep on organic mattresses and start your day with freshly baked bread.
The sound of the Aarvik river flowing through the farmyard and the scent of freshly baked sourdough bread from the barn. At Aarvik Gård in Baldersheim by the Bjørnafjorden, Ranjeeta Aarvik runs an organic artisan bakery focused on Norwegian heritage grains. The bakery is housed in the old barn from 1866, and the bread that comes out of it is worth the trip alone — with a crispy crust and the deep, nutty character that heritage grains provide.

The cluster farmyard has buildings dating back to the 1700s and 1800s, and around you roam coastal goats, miniature pigs, peacocks, rabbits, and chickens. Staying overnight in Gamlastovo from 1820 gives you fjord views and organic mattresses, with breakfast straight from the bakery. Seasonal sweet pastries sell out fast, so arrive early. Open Thursday to Sunday in season.
Opening hours may vary, especially during holidays and seasonal changes. We recommend checking the venue's own website for updated hours.
